Peak bloom 2022 is happening now! I know I just wrote about the DC cherry blossoms a few weeks ago, but I’m ridiculously excited to share some photos from this year. It’s been four years since I really shot these blooms and they did not disappoint. We ended up going at sunrise this past Sunday which was a day early for true peak bloom, but since this is my last work week before a new job I knew it was then or never. Plus there is rain in the forecast this week which might impact the blooms.
This year I set up my Canon M50 to capture a timelapse of the sun coming over the Jefferson Memorial. It’s a little silly with the branches dancing around, but I love it regardless.
I also love taking “then and now” photos with my baby girl. Here we are in 2021 and 2022. Apparently she stole all my hair.
Also, how stinking cute is this girl with her daddy?
And without further ado, please enjoy the beauty of DC spring.
If you can’t scurry down to DC in the next few days, the National Cherry Blossom Festival runs until April 17.

Blossom Kite Festival: March 26
Parade: April 9
